Read the table as a map of platforms. A player who has seen Golden Crown’s lobby has seen the same core studios as at Ricky and Woo; the difference between the Novatrix brands is the bonus and the withdrawal rulebook, not the games, which is why our sister-sites page matters more than any provider list when choosing between them. The two real outliers are BitStarz, whose 23 September list named the big European studios that the others lack, and the Realtime Gaming sites, whose entire catalogue is one studio’s.
The October gaps depend on where the lobby is opened from. From a connection in Germany on 11 October 2026, the same eight Novatrix lobbies listed Evolution, NetEnt, Pragmatic Play and Nolimit City, so their absence is what an Australian connection sees, not the catalogue. We did not try to open a game without an account.
The studios, in one line each
- BGaming (in 18 of 30 lobbies): the default pokie supplier of the Novatrix platform; the studio whose titles the welcome free spins are usually credited on. Stated returns mostly 96–97%, published per game.
- Betsoft (18): 3D-styled pokies and the table games at the Lucky Tiger family and Grand Rush; older titles run at 95–96%.
- Booongo / 3 Oaks, Playson, Platipus, Belatra, Mascot (15–18 each): the mid-tier suppliers that fill the Novatrix lobbies; Belatra and Mascot also make the video-bingo and casino hold’em titles under the “other games” tabs.
- Evolution (14): on 19 September, the live-dealer tables (roulette, blackjack, baccarat, Super Sic Bo, Casino Hold’em) at every Novatrix brand, Jackpot Jill and BitStarz; the eight Novatrix lobbies we rechecked from an Australian connection on 9 and 11 October 2026 did not list Evolution. The Realtime Gaming sites use Vivo or none. Evolution also owns NetEnt, Nolimit City and Big Time Gaming.

- NetEnt and Microgaming / Games Global (12 and 8): the old European names, on 19 September mostly at BitStarz and the larger Novatrix sites; none of the eight Novatrix lobbies we rechecked from an Australian connection on 9 and 11 October 2026 listed either; Games Global bought Microgaming’s games portfolio in 2022, according to trade press.

Studio, platform, aggregator: who does what
Three kinds of company stand between a game and your screen: the studio makes it, an aggregator distributes it, and a platform runs the casino around it. Knowing which is which explains why many lobbies look alike.
Studio. Booming Games describes the model in its own words: it “operates as a Business-to-Business (B2B) company and provides video slot games to gaming aggregators and Business-to-Customer (B2C) gaming operators”. A studio of this kind sells to casinos, not to players.
Aggregator. SoftSwiss says its game aggregator is “compatible with any sportsbook and online casino” and promises: “Launch within 3 weeks with a single API integration.” One connection gives a casino the catalogues of many studios at once.
Platform. SoftSwiss describes its casino platform as “full-featured”, with “integrated player account management, payment providers, gamification, and bonusing”. Casinos built on one platform often share one catalogue, which is what the Novatrix row in the table above shows.
The provider sets the return, and some publish several versions
The number that matters on a pokie, its theoretical return to player (RTP), is set by the studio, and some studios publish more than one. Hacksaw Gaming lists four for Wanted Dead or a Wild: 96.38%, 94.55%, 92.33% and 88.42% (checked 11 October 2026). Over a very long run, the gap between the top and bottom version is A$7.96 for every A$100 staked. Hacksaw’s page does not say which version a casino runs.
Other studios publish less. Pragmatic Play and Nolimit City show one RTP per game page, yet Pragmatic’s own Sweet Bonanza demo reported two other values. Play’n GO and Booming Games showed no RTP on the game pages we checked. So the provider’s name is not a return guarantee: read the return in the game’s information screen at the casino where you play. Our RTP page lists the printed returns we found game by game.
Who tests the games
Independent labs test the random number generator (RNG), the software that decides each result, and the return a game pays. Each lab describes its work on its own site, read on 11 October 2026.
- eCOGRA, founded in 2003 and based in the UK, says it is “accredited in 47 jurisdictions and counting”. For RNG certification it reviews the source code and runs “extensive statistical analysis on the output of the RNG over many iterations”. Its RTP test checks whether payouts fall “within a statistically acceptable interval, based on the games volatility”.
- iTech Labs lists “source code evaluation, compilation to generate the raw RNG output, and testing the raw numbers and scaled/shuffled output”, and offers RTP audits from server logs.
- BMM Testlabs says it is “the longest-established and most experienced private independent gaming test laboratory in the world”, serving the industry “for over 40 years”.
- GLI (Gaming Laboratories International) says it “provides independent testing and inspection of electronic gaming products” and publishes technical standards, among them GLI-11 and GLI-19 Interactive Gaming Systems v3.0.
A lab named on a studio’s website is a claim. The proof is a certificate for a specific game; this page does not assert one for any game.
BGaming
BGaming is a Maltese studio with an MGA licence that the regulator’s register showed as Licensed on 11 October 2026. Its about page names the holder: Stable Games Ltd, Valletta, under a B2B Critical Gaming Supply Licence, MGA/B2B/785/2020, issued 18 March 2021.
The page says the company has worked in the field “since 2012” and that the BGaming brand “came to life in 2018”. It is headquartered in Malta, with development offices in Poland and Georgia. It also names a Curaçao B2B licence but publishes no number for it.
BGaming publishes an RTP on each game page: Aviamasters 97% (released 2 July 2024), Elvis Frog in Vegas 95.3% (13 May 2020), Plinko 99% (28 January 2019). Its “Live RTP” panels are the studio’s own statistics, not a lab certificate. BGaming was the most frequent of the ten studios we tracked in casino game lists captured on 23 September 2026: 36 of 65.
Booming Games
Booming Games is a Maltese studio licensed in Malta and Great Britain. Its footer names Booming Games (Malta) Ltd., Birkirkara, under MGA/B2B/459/2018, issued 10 September 2018; the MGA register showed the licence as Licensed on 11 October 2026.
In Great Britain, account 57254 was Active on the UK Gambling Commission register on the same day, for Gambling Software and Game Host (Casino). Booming says its games “are tested and certified by accredited third-party test houses” but does not name them.
We found no RTP on its game pages or release news on 11 October 2026, and we do not copy figures from catalogue sites. Booming appeared in 22 of 65 casino game lists captured on 23 September 2026, often next to BGaming at casinos on the SoftSwiss platform.
Hacksaw Gaming
Hacksaw Gaming belongs to Hacksaw AB (publ), a Swedish company listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since 25 June 2025, and the game pages we checked list three or four RTP versions each. The company says it was founded in 2018 and released its first slot in 2020. Its games are slots, scratch cards and instant-win games.
The licences sit with HGMT Ltd, a Maltese subsidiary: MGA/CRP/501/2018, listed in the MGA register, and UK account 54059, Active on the UK Gambling Commission register (both checked 11 October 2026). Licences it states in the Isle of Man, Curaçao and elsewhere we did not check.

In Sweden, a case turned on where Hacksaw’s games appeared. Gambling Insider reported on 16 April 2025 that the Swedish regulator found unlicensed operators offering Hacksaw games in January 2024; a sanction fee on Hacksaw of SEK 2.6 million was cut on appeal to SEK 20,000, and Hacksaw argued that it uses geoblocking. Hacksaw appeared in 12 of 65 casino game lists captured on 23 September 2026.
Nolimit City
Nolimit City is a Maltese studio owned by Evolution since 8 August 2022, whose game pages we checked list maximum payouts of up to 300,000 times the bet. Its footer names Nolimit City Limited (C 54001) under MGA/B2B/299/2015, issued 1 August 2018, listed in the MGA register; UK account 52097 was Active on the UK Gambling Commission register (both checked 11 October 2026).
Its mechanics carry trademarks, explained on its game pages. xWays: symbols that land reveal “a stack of the same symbol, increasing the ways available to win”. xNudge: a wild nudges to fill the reel and can raise its multiplier. xSplit: it “will split all symbols to the left of it into two, increasing the ways to win”.

Big Time Gaming
Big Time Gaming (BTG) is a Sydney company owned by Evolution, and it no longer holds a UK licence of its own. Its site names Big Time Gaming Pty Ltd, Surry Hills, NSW, and says the studio “burst onto the scene in 2011”, founded by Nik Robinson.
Evolution agreed on 12 April 2021 to buy it for up to EUR 450 million and completed the deal on 30 June 2021. BTG’s UK licence was surrendered on 23 March 2023, according to an archived copy of the UK register; the MGA register lists no BTG entity, and BTG’s site shows no licence statement of its own (checked 11 October 2026).
BTG made the Megaways mechanic: in its words, “offering players 117,649 ways to win”, “licensed to numerous developers”. Evolution said in April 2021 that it was used in over 200 games from multiple providers. Our Megaways pokies guide explains how it plays.
BTG’s pages give Bonanza an RTP of 96.00% and White Rabbit 96.42%. Extra Chilli shows a range, “96.15% - 96.41%”, without explaining it. BTG appeared in 5 of 65 casino game lists captured on 23 September 2026.
Play’n GO
Play’n GO is licensed in Malta and Great Britain. Its footer names Play’n GO Malta Limited under MGA/B2B/225/2012, issued 1 August 2018, listed in the MGA register; UK account 55949 was Active on the UK Gambling Commission register (both checked 11 October 2026). A Gibraltar licence, RGL No. 131, is stated by the company and not checked in a register.
The company says it has “more than 400 premium titles” and supplies operators “in more than 35 jurisdictions”. Book of Dead was released on 14 January 2016, according to its game page.
The pages for Book of Dead, Reactoonz and Legacy of Dead do not mention RTP, so we give no figure; check the game’s information screen at the casino. We found no founding year or owner in Play’n GO’s own documents. It appeared in 14 of 65 casino game lists captured on 23 September 2026.
Aristocrat, IGT and the pub pokies
The studios Australians know from the pub and the club, Aristocrat above all, and IGT, Ainsworth and Konami, do not license their pokies to online casinos that serve Australia. Aristocrat’s online arm sells social-casino apps with no cash prizes and supplies regulated markets abroad; nothing it makes is legally available for real money online in Australia, and a lobby that shows a “Lightning Link” or “Queen of the Nile” is running a copy. Lucky Dreams names IGT among its suppliers; IGT’s real-money online distribution covers regulated markets, and the presence of its titles at an offshore lobby is worth a question to the operator. Ainsworth
Ainsworth’s annual report places its real-money online pokies in the Americas; its other online games are social casino, without cash prizes. Ainsworth Game Technology Limited has been listed on the ASX since 17 December 2001, and Novomatic AG held 67.39% of its shares on 20 March 2026, according to its annual report.
The report says its online group released 30 slot titles in 2025 “for regulated real-money gaming markets across the United States, Canada, and Latin America”. In social casino it works through its “exclusive partner Zynga (Hit It Rich)”.
Online is a small part of the business: Ainsworth Interactive made up 2% of revenue in the half-year to 30 June 2026, and online revenue was A$2.3 million. None of our 206 casino files lists Ainsworth. For free play, see our free pokies guide.
How to check a provider claim
- Open the lobby’s provider filter, not the marketing page; the filter lists what is actually installed.
- Open one game from the studio and find the studio’s logo and the return in the game’s own help screen. A copy carries neither.
- Compare the return in the help screen with the studio’s published figure for that title; a lower number means the casino runs a different version from the one on the studio’s page.
- For live tables, look for Evolution, Pragmatic Play Live, Ezugi or Vivo in the table name; where the studio is not named, its rules and return cannot be checked.

Sources and method
Studio names and counts were read on 19 September 2026 from the public lobbies, provider filters and footers of 30 operators through an Australian IP address, without logging in; Rocket’s lobby was dropped from the family table on 11 October 2026 after we found the September reading had come from a different brand’s site; the per-studio counts out of 30 still include that render until it is redone. A studio counted is one the lobby named, so a site with no public provider filter shows a low count regardless of its catalogue. The “of 65” counts come from a second, wider set: the studio lists in our casino research files, captured mostly on 23 September 2026, for ten studios only.
