The price of any offer is four numbers: the wagering multiplier, what it multiplies (the bonus alone, or deposit plus bonus), the cap on withdrawals and the maximum bet while it runs. At a 4% house edge, 40× on a A$100 bonus means A$4,000 of bets that cost about A$160 on average (our arithmetic). A bonus is worth taking only if you would play that turnover anyway. This hub sets out the kinds of bonus, the rulebook of each operator, the welcome offers as printed, and a five-step reading of any offer.
The kinds of bonus, and the guide for each
| Kind | What it is | The numbers that price it | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| First deposit (welcome) bonus | A percentage of the first deposit added as credit, usually with free spins, often split over several deposits | Multiplier (40× the bonus at Golden Crown, Woo and BitStarz; 50× at PlayAmo and Ricky), its base, the cap, the max bet, the validity | First deposit bonuses |
| Free spins | Spins on one named pokie at a fixed stake; winnings become bonus credit | 30–60× on the winnings; fixed caps of 70–225 at 11 operators (A$ at nine; $ with no currency named at Grand Rush and Ignition), 5–6× the bonus at the Fair Go, Ozwin and Lucky Tiger terms | Free spins |
| No-deposit bonus | Credit or spins for registering, before any deposit | 30–60×; caps of A$70–150 ($125 at Ignition, no currency named) or 5× the bonus; usually a deposit before withdrawal | No deposit bonuses, on mobile |
| Minimum-deposit offers | What a small deposit unlocks: $/€20 at Wolf Winner, King Johnnie and Casino Mate, A$25 at Woo, A$45 for Golden Crown's welcome offer | Deposit threshold, then the same multiplier and cap as any match bonus | Minimum deposit casinos |
| High-roller offers | Larger match ceilings for larger deposits | Ceiling, multiplier, withdrawal tiers | High roller bonuses |
| Cashback | A share of lost money returned as bonus credit or a free chip | Its own multiplier, and its own cap: Woo caps cashback winnings at 10,000 AUD | Casino cashback |
| VIP and comp points | Status tiers and points earned on play | Withdrawal limits by tier; point conversion | Cashback and VIP programs |
| “No wagering” offers | Bonuses paid as cash, as in the UK market | No cash bonus without wagering in the 22 documents we could read | No wagering casinos |
| The clauses themselves | Max bet, contribution, expiry, abuse rules, verification | The clauses that set the price of any offer | Casino bonuses explained, bonus terms glossary |
The rulebook, operator by operator
Operators are grouped where their terms use the same figures; a shared rulebook is not proof of a shared owner. Figures were read on 11 and 17 October 2026 and are in the currency the terms use.

The base matters as much as the number. Fair Go's 30× on a A$100 deposit with a A$100 bonus is A$6,000 of bets, against A$4,000 for 40× on the bonus alone. Every dollar of turnover costs about four cents on a pokie set to 96% RTP, so the multiplier is a price, not a delay: A$160 on a A$100 bonus at 40×, A$240 at 60×, which is more than the A$200 balance of deposit plus bonus, so on average the balance runs out first (our arithmetic). The bonus guide works through the clauses behind it.

Headlines as each casino's home page printed them to an Australian connection on 17 October 2026, with the wagering from its terms. A headline is the casino's marketing, not a term; the clauses behind each are on the first deposit page.

The largest headlines come with 40× to 50× on the bonus; Fair Go's offer comes with a lower number on a wider base. Neither makes an offer good or bad on its own. Bonus size does not move our casino scores, which rest on withdrawal terms; every review is listed in our casino reviews index.
How to read any offer in five steps
- Find the multiplier and its base. 40× the bonus and 30× the deposit plus bonus are different prices; multiply out the turnover in dollars.
- Find the cap. On free offers it is a fixed 70 to 225 (A$ at nine operators; $ with no currency named at Grand Rush and Ignition) or five to six times the bonus in the terms we read. Anything above the cap is removed.
- Find the maximum bet. A$3 to $10 a spin while the bonus runs; one bet over the line can void the bonus and its winnings.
- Find the contribution table. Pokies count in full; Woo counts table games at 5%, and Ozwin counts only pokies towards free bonuses. A bonus is a pokies bonus whatever the offer says.
- Find the exit. Whether the deposit can be withdrawn before the wagering is done. At Woo it can, and the bonus and its winnings are forfeited (bonus terms 6e).
What this section does not publish
Bonus codes. They change often, the operator prints them on its own promotion page at the moment of deposit, and a code that has expired is worse than none: the deposit goes through without the bonus. What decides the value of an offer is the rulebook, which changes less often and is what these pages record with the date of reading.
FAQ
Which online casino bonus has the lowest wagering?
In the 22 sets of terms we could read on 11 and 17 October 2026, King Billy's default of 30× the bonus is the lowest. Fair Go's 30× applies to deposit plus bonus, so it asks for more turnover; Golden Crown, Woo, Spinago and BitStarz ask 40× the bonus.
What is a $20 deposit bonus?
A bonus you can claim with a deposit of about $20. Wolf Winner, King Johnnie and Casino Mate set $/€20 as the minimum for any bonus, FastPay 20 AUD and Ozwin $20; Woo asks A$25. A 100% match on A$20 at 40× means A$800 of bets, about A$32 of expected cost (our arithmetic).
Are online casino bonuses worth it?
On average, no. At a 4% house edge, 40× on a A$100 bonus costs about A$160 in expected losses, more than the bonus, and the cap limits a lucky run (our arithmetic). A bonus pays only if you would play that turnover anyway; declining it leaves a deposit with no wagering, cap or bet limit.
Why no bonus codes?
Codes change often and expire, and the casino prints the current one on its own promotion page at deposit time. A stale code loses the bonus, so we record the terms with the date we read them instead.
Sources and method
Figures are from the bonus terms or general terms of 23 operators, read from an Australian connection (Melbourne) on 11 October 2026 and again on 17 October 2026, and from the home pages of 12 casinos read on 17 October 2026. FastPay's terms need an account. BitStarz's bonus terms page showed A$150 for no-deposit winnings on 17 October 2026, while the data behind the page gave 100; this page uses what the visitor sees. Expected-cost figures assume a pokie set to 96% RTP. Headlines and terms change without notice; the dates above are the dates of reading.
