The original machine
The original Queen of the Nile has no page on Aristocrat’s website. The site’s index, checked on 11 October 2026, contains no Queen of the Nile page in any region except the two newer titles described below; the Australian section has none.
A release year and a reel-and-line layout for the original are repeated across many websites, but we found no Aristocrat or regulator source for either, so we do not state them. The same applies to the rules of its free games: the one reference we found, a collectors’ database, refused our requests.
What is on record is that Aristocrat still uses the name on current machines. The wider Aristocrat catalogue, and how to tell a genuine game from a copy, are covered in our Aristocrat pokies guide.
Today’s versions: Game Reserve and Flamin Fortune
Aristocrat lists two current titles that carry the name, each in a regional section of its website. Neither appears in its Australian section.
| Title | Aristocrat region | Feature, as Aristocrat describes it |
|---|---|---|
| Game Reserve Queen of the Nile | Europe, Middle East and Africa | “Scatter wins award Free Games in which all wins are tripled.” |
| Flamin Fortune Queen of the Nile | Latin America | “a unique free game experience, as well as Hold & Spin” |
Taken from Aristocrat’s site index (aristocratgaming.com/query-index.json), checked 11 October 2026.
The prefix tells the versions apart. In Game Reserve, a scatter win (a symbol that pays wherever it lands) opens free games, and every win in them is multiplied by three. Flamin Fortune adds Hold & Spin, the jackpot feature of Aristocrat’s Lightning Link series; our Lightning Link page covers what Aristocrat says about it.
A related US title, Prosperity of the Nile, shares the Egyptian theme but not the name. Aristocrat describes it as “Classic Hold & Spin and an exciting bonus game feature with wilds being multiplied.”
Free play: the Heart of Vegas app
A Queen of the Nile slot machine is free to play with virtual coins in the Heart of Vegas app. Its App Store Australia listing says: “Unearth Cleopatra’s slots fortunes in Ancient Egypt with the QUEEN OF THE NILE slot machine.”
The same listing says the app “does not offer gambling or an opportunity to win real money or prizes” and that you must be 18 or over to access it. It does not say which version of Queen of the Nile the app runs. Other legitimate ways to play pokies for free are in our free pokies guide.
Real-money Queen of the Nile online
We found no regulated real-money online launch of Queen of the Nile as of 11 October 2026; our searches covered the UK, New Jersey and Ontario. By comparison, Aristocrat took Lightning Link online for real money on 23 July 2026, in regulated US states and Canadian provinces only.
Our reading, not Aristocrat’s words: Aristocrat Interactive describes itself as Aristocrat’s “regulated online Real Money Gaming (RMG) business,” and online pokies may not be offered to people in Australia, so a real-money “Queen of the Nile” at a site that accepts Australians is not an Aristocrat product we could trace. The studio named in the game’s info panel shows what it is.
What venue machines return in Australia
Venue machines must return 85–92% of all money bet over their lifetime, according to the NSW and Queensland governments. In Victoria the minimum is 85%, calculated over a year.
Return to player (RTP) is the share of all stakes a machine pays back as prizes over that period. At 85%, A$85 of every A$100 bet comes back on average and the machine keeps A$15; a single session can end far from that average. We found no RTP published by Aristocrat for any Queen of the Nile machine.
Is it legal to play Queen of the Nile in Australia?
Online for real money, no provider may offer it to you. In the words of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 “makes it illegal for gambling providers to offer some online services to people in Australia”, and ACMA lists “slots (pokies)” among illegal online services.
ACMA asks internet providers to block sites offering such services. It warns that if you use an illegal service, “Australian regulators will not be able to help you” if the provider treats you poorly or withholds your winnings, and that a blocked site may stop you logging in to your account.
Parliament passed the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Gambling Reform) Bill 2026 on 19 August 2026; ACMA says most of the reforms commence on 1 January 2027. Our guide to the law covers the details.
