Crazy Time by Evolution: Live Game Show Review

Last checked 17 October 2026 · 8 min read · 18+ · How this site is funded

Crazy Time is Evolution’s live game show, launched in July 2020, in which a presenter spins a 54-segment money wheel with four bonus games; the studio puts its return at 96.08%, and neither its games site nor eight casino lobbies we review showed it from Australia on 17 October 2026.

Key facts

  • Studio and launch: Evolution, July 2020; the stream runs 24/7, and Crazy Time A is an additional studio with the same gameplay.
  • Wheel: 54 segments, numbers 1, 2, 5 and 10 plus four bonus games; a Top Slot adds up to 50x; betting time is 15 seconds.
  • RTP: 96.08% according to Evolution, which also gives a range of 94.41% to 96.08%; per bet it depends on the rules version.
  • From Australia on 17 October 2026: Evolution’s games site was blocked in 3 of 3 checks, and none of the eight casino lobbies whose title search works listed Crazy Time.
  • Law: ACMA says the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 makes it illegal to offer online casinos to people in Australia (checked 17 October 2026).

How Crazy Time works

You bet on a number or a bonus game during 15 seconds of betting time, the presenter spins the wheel, and the segment under the flapper at the top wins. Evolution describes “a Dream Catcher-style money wheel with 54 segments”.

Number bets pay at the number’s own odds. The 2020 rules sheet says: “winning number 5 pays 5 to 1, winning number 10 pays 10 to 1, and so on.” Both sheets we read return the stake on top.

The Top Slot is a two-reel mini-game above the wheel. In the words of the 2024 rules sheet, “Each round the Top Slot will determine one random multiplier for one random bet spot — either a number or Bonus.” It counts only if the bet spot and multiplier line up in the middle of the Top Slot. Evolution puts the maximum at 50x.

Everyone can watch a bonus game, but only players who bet on that spot can win it. The game runs on desktop and mobile.

The four bonus games

Nine of the 54 segments are bonus games: four Coin Flip, two Cash Hunt, two Pachinko and one Crazy Time. The two rules sheets differ on some mechanics.

Coin Flip

A red and blue coin gets a random multiplier on each side, any Top Slot multiplier is applied, and the coin is flipped; low multipliers may bring a Rescue Flip. Evolution says: “This bonus can pay up to 5000x but needs a Top Slot multiplier of 50x.” The 2024 sheet lists 2–2000 to 1, so the range depends on the rules version. Crazy Coin Flip is a separate Evolution game, not this bonus.

Cash Hunt

A wall of 108 random multipliers is covered and shuffled, and each player aims a cannon at one spot. Without a choice, the spot is picked at random.

Pachinko

A puck drops through pegs onto 16 multipliers; DOUBLE doubles them all and the puck drops again. Evolution’s page gives a maximum of 10,000x. In the 2024 sheet, DOUBLE is then replaced with 50x, and Pachinko pays 2–8000 to 1.

Crazy Time

Behind a red door, in both sheets, is a virtual 64-segment wheel with three flappers; each player picks one. In the 2020 sheet, DOUBLE or TRIPLE multiply every value and spin again. The 2024 sheet has only DOUBLE, replaces a second one with 50x and pays 15–8000 to 1. Evolution calls 20,000x in this bonus the game’s highest potential win.

Crazy Time RTP and odds by segment

The number 1 comes up most often: 21 of 54 segments, a 38.9% chance per spin if every segment is equally likely. The Crazy Time bonus is the rarest at 1 in 54 (1.9%). Some bonus covers 9 of 54 segments, or 1 spin in 6, and Evolution agrees: “Players have a 1 in 6 chance of landing a bonus round with each spin.”

Return to player (RTP) is the share of all stakes a game is designed to pay back. Evolution says: “The RTP of Crazy Time is 96.08%.” That is an average over a very long run, not what a session returns; the house edge is 3.92% (see our house edge guide).

RTP figures are from Evolution’s Crazy Time rules as published by Loto-Québec (PDF of 12 August 2020) and on the CDN of PokerStars’ operator (PDF of 3 April 2024). Which version a table runs shows only in the game’s help panel. Chance per spin is segments divided by 54; equal segments are our assumption, as the rules do not say so in words.

The published figures do not agree. Evolution’s how-to page gives a range of 94.41% to 96.08%, but neither sheet fits inside it: Pachinko is 94.33% in 2020, Coin Flip 96.49% in 2024. Both sheets call 96.08% “optimal”, yet three 2024 bets are higher.

Without a Top Slot multiplier, a bet on 1 would return 21/54 × 2 = 77.8% (our arithmetic, not an Evolution figure); Evolution’s 96.08% for that bet includes the Top Slot multipliers. The 3.92% our live casino guide gives for the best bet of a Crazy Time-style show matches 100% minus 96.08%.

Max win and the biggest wins

Evolution calls 20,000x in the Crazy Time bonus the game’s highest potential win, yet it reports a 25,000x Cash Hunt result. Its FAQ says a player hit a “25,000X bet multiplier during the Cash Hunt bonus game on December 11, 2022, leading to a win of €2,815,169.” That win is above the “up to €500,000” the studio gives for bonus rounds.

The 2020 rules sheet says: “Maximum payout for your all winnings within a game round is limited.” Evolution names no player or casino for the record, and we found no operator press release.

No source we read gives a cap in Australian dollars. Evolution lists bets from 0.10 to 5,000 without a currency, and the 2024 sheet says table limits may change.

Do Crazy Time stats and trackers predict spins?

No. Evolution itself says: “Each spin is independent, so past stats do not predict or affect what is coming next.” Trackers and statistics pages show only past spins.

The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, a public addiction-services body in Canada, calls the belief that a result is due after a long absence the gambler’s fallacy. Its example is roulette, where each spin is “totally independent of all previous spins”. A segment that has not landed for a while is no more likely on the next spin.

Other Evolution game shows

Evolution makes other game shows, and on 17 October 2026 none of the show pages below that we could read stated an RTP.

Where we looked for Crazy Time from Australia

In the casino lobbies we review, Crazy Time did not show from Australia on 17 October 2026. Through an Australian connection, games.evolution.com redirected 3 times out of 3 to a page reading “Sorry, this website cannot be accessed from your region”. From a server in Germany it opened 3 of 3 times, as it did from a European server on 11 October (see our Evolution page).

We searched nine lobbies for the title Crazy Time. From Australia, none of the eight whose title search works listed it; from Germany, the same eight listed Crazy Time, Crazy Time A, Crazy Time Italia and Turkce Crazy Time. A control search for Elvis Frog returned Elvis Frog games from Australia in all eight, so the empty result is a filter, not a broken search.

The ninth, BitStarz, ignores the title filter and returned nothing from either country, so its result tells us nothing. Bizzo’s live lobby from Australia listed 1,125 titles from 13 studios, none of them Evolution. We read the lists without an account, in two runs on one evening, and did not open the game.

Crazy Time apps and free play

We found no free version of Crazy Time on Evolution’s sites, read from Germany on 17 October 2026. The Crazy Time pages showed no demo button, and Evolution’s Playin site had no Crazy Time page (error 404). Evolution says: “Yes, you can watch Crazy Time rounds without placing bets”, but from Australia its games site did not open.

An app with Crazy Time in its name on Google Play is a world-clock tool from a developer other than Evolution, not a game.

Offering it is not. ACMA, the Australian Communications and Media Authority, says the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 “makes it illegal for gambling providers to offer some online services to people in Australia”, and lists online casinos among the banned services (page last updated 21 August 2026, read 17 October 2026). In our reading, any casino that offers Crazy Time for real money to people in Australia is not licensed in Australia.

The law is changing. ACMA says Parliament passed the Interactive Gambling Amendment (Gambling Reform) Bill 2026 on 19 August 2026, and “Most of the reforms commence on 1 January 2027.” Our guide to the law on real-money online casinos covers the detail.

Safer play. Gambling Help Online is available 24 hours a day on 1800 858 858 and at gamblinghelponline.org.au. You can self-exclude from licensed Australian online wagering at betstop.gov.au. Set a limit before you play. You must be 18 or over. More contacts are on our support resources page.

Crazy Time FAQ

What are the rules of Crazy Time?

You bet on a number (1, 2, 5 or 10) or one of four bonus games within 15 seconds, and the presenter spins a 54-segment wheel. A number pays at its own odds, and a Top Slot can add up to 50x to one bet spot.

What are the odds of winning Crazy Time?

The number 1 covers 21 of 54 segments, a 38.9% chance per spin by our arithmetic; the Crazy Time bonus covers one (1.9%), and some bonus comes up 1 spin in 6. Evolution puts the RTP at 96.08%, an average over a very long run, not what a session returns.

Can you play Crazy Time for free?

We found no free version on Evolution’s sites, read from Germany on 17 October 2026. Evolution says you can watch rounds without placing bets, but its games site did not open from Australia in our checks.

What is the highest ever win on Crazy Time?

Evolution says a player hit a 25,000x multiplier in Cash Hunt on 11 December 2022, a win of €2,815,169. That is above the 20,000x in the Crazy Time bonus that Evolution calls the game’s highest potential win, and above the €500,000 it gives as the bonus-round limit.

Can Australians play Crazy Time?

Offering it to them is not legal: ACMA says the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 bans offering online casinos to people in Australia. On 17 October 2026 Evolution’s games site did not open from Australia, and none of the eight casino lobbies whose title search works listed Crazy Time from there.
