Tangiers Casino Has Closed (2026): What Is Left Online and Your Balance

If you had money there, ACMA's general advice for an illegal operator that closes is that “you are unlikely to see your money again”. What you can still do is below.

What we found on 23 October 2026

None of these addresses has a Tangiers Casino login, cashier, rules or support contact. From Germany, the casino's address seemed to “answer”. That reply came from our own server, because the address points back at the machine asking. A site being off ACMA's list on 23 October means only that it was not listed that day. Who owns tangierscasino.net and the other addresses, we do not know.

The sites using the Tangiers name

tangiers1.com is titled “Tangiers Casino” and opens with “Tangiers Casino Login”. Its text says Tangiers “was established in 2016 as a top online casino managed by Celicorp Limited” and that “it's licensed in Curacao”. Those are that site's words. We did not find Celicorp in the archived copies of the casino's own site (2017–2023). Its footer also mentions Casino Moons and Joka Room. From Australia, its “Login / Register” and “PLAY NOW” buttons led our browser to LuckyMate Casino; from Germany, to Slot7.

tangiers-casino-australia.com calls itself the “Official Site” and advertises “UP TO AU$7,000 + 250 Spins”. Its domain was registered on 11 March 2026, almost three years after the casino's own server last answered the Internet Archive. From Australia, its “Sign Up” and “Get Bonus” buttons led our browser to the sign-up page of Spinline Casino; from Germany, to Golden Crown.

What this means for you: we found no sign that either site belongs to Tangiers Casino, and no notice from the casino of a new address. Anything you enter after their buttons goes to other casinos, not to Tangiers. Where the buttons lead depends on the country you visit from. We did not register, and we did not check what those casinos offer. Addresses of LuckyMate and Golden Crown are on ACMA's list of blocked websites.

ACMA's 2022 request, and was it legal to play?

For you as a player: ACMA treats Tangiers Casino as an illegal service. Its page for players warns about risks to you, such as losing your money, and does not mention penalties for players.

ACMA named Tangiers Casino in a release of 23 February 2022. It begins:

“The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that Australian internet service providers (ISPs) block more illegal offshore gambling websites.”

Tangiers Casino is on the release's list of sites, alongside 21 Dukes and Thebes Casino. ACMA says it “undertook investigations that found these sites to be operating in breach of the” Interactive Gambling Act 2001. The release names the brand, not its addresses.

The casino's address appears in an archived copy of ACMA's list from 7 March 2022, and the two other addresses with the brand's name from 25 September 2022. That is when the archive saw them, not necessarily when they were added. On 23 October 2026 all three are on the list.

The practical point of ACMA's page for players: “If you use an illegal service, Australian regulators will not be able to help you if: … the service provider withholds your winnings”. For more on the law, see our guide to whether online casino gambling is legal in Australia.

When it closed

We cannot give an exact date, and we found no closing notice. The Internet Archive's last copy of the casino's home page that opened is from 6 October 2022. After that, the casino's server sent the archive's robot to a page called “/blocked”. The last such copy is from 2 April 2023, and there are no copies from the casino's server after it. By September 2026, when we audited our reviews, the address pointed nowhere.

The “/blocked” page shows only the name “Tangiers Casino”, so it does not tell us whether the casino had closed. Why it closed is not established, and we do not know whether ACMA's request caused it.

Who ran it, what licence it claimed and what it advertised

The last regulator we found the site naming is Curaçao, in 2017, next to a blank company name. That is the site's claim, not a licence we verified; in 2022 it named no company or regulator at all. These are the site's own words in archived copies:

• 2017: “This website is owned and operated by . operates from , is licensed by the Government of Curacao and is regulated by the Curacao Gaming Commissioner.” The company name and address are blank. The page linked to a Curaçao seal we could not check (copies of 1–2 April 2017).
• 2022: the footer and the site's settings named no company, no regulator and no licence number. The settings listed the Australian dollar (A$) among the site's currencies (copies of 24 August 2022).
• Advertising in 2022: a promotion page for Australia offered an “AUD15 Free Chip” on sign-up, and a “200% Bonus” “UP TO A$ 7.500” plus “30 Free Spins” on the first deposit (copy of 15 October 2022). That is an advert: the page showed no bonus rules.

Today there is no casino to credit any bonus. Some directories and other sites name companies and licence numbers for Tangiers; we did not find them in the archived pages of the casino's own site that we read (2017–2023).

If you had money in the account

• You cannot withdraw through the site. None of the addresses above has a Tangiers Casino login, a withdrawal form or a support contact.
• ACMA: regulators cannot help with an illegal operator. Its page for players says: “If you use an illegal service, Australian regulators will not be able to help you if: … the service provider withholds your winnings”. One case it lists: “The illegal operator closes its services, or moves them elsewhere, and your money disappears.” Its conclusion: “Unfortunately, you are unlikely to see your money again in these situations.” This is ACMA's general advice, not a ruling on Tangiers Casino.
• Of the three routes ACMA names, the third does not fit. For money stuck with an overseas gambling website, ACMA lists independent legal advice, a complaint to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), and “the relevant licensing authority”. The last regulator Tangiers named was Curaçao, in 2017, beside a blank company name; in 2022 it named none. Curaçao's regulator now describes itself as the Curaçao Gaming Authority. In our reading, without a company name there is no clear licensing authority to complain to.
• If you paid by card, ask your bank about a chargeback anyway. Consumer Affairs Victoria says time limits “vary from 45 to 120 days from the transaction date”, so “Check your card provider's time limit”. The last reply from the casino's server that we found is from 2 April 2023 (see when it closed), so for a deposit made by then that limit passed long ago; only your bank can say whether anything is still possible.
• What the chargeback page covers. Consumer Affairs Victoria says a chargeback “reverses a transaction made on a debit or credit card”. One case it lists is when “the business stops operating and does not supply the purchased product or service.” A chargeback may not be available if you “paid with cash, money transfer, cheque, direct debit or BPAY”, and the page does not cover cryptocurrency or vouchers. If you believe the bank wrongly rejected your request, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) can help. This is general advice about purchases, not about casinos; whether it covers a casino deposit is for your bank to decide.
• You can report the site to ACMA. ACMA's complaint form is for “prohibited interactive gambling services (gambling websites)”, and ACMA says “You do not have to give us your name.” It is a report about a website, not a way to get money back.
• Do not pay anyone who offers to recover it. Scamwatch, the scam-warning service run by the ACCC, says of recovery offers: “You won’t recover any stolen money and the scammers will just steal more money from you.” And: “Never accept offers from anyone who says they can get your money back.” Scamwatch writes about scam victims in general; applying it to a closed casino is our reading.

Casinos linked to Tangiers

In 2017 Tangiers Casino and Casino Moons, whose address we also found pointing nowhere on 23 October 2026, printed the same Curaçao footer with a blank company name. A shared template does not prove a shared operator. Addresses with the names of both brands are on ACMA's list of blocked websites on 23 October 2026. In our reading, a “sister site” carries the same risk; it is not a fallback.

Where to play instead
