Single Deck European Blackjack: Rules
Let’s see how to count your hand total in blackjack online. Cards from two to ten are worth their face value. For example, Jack, King and Queen are worth 10 points each. The value of Ace is determined by the player independently. It can be worth either one, or eleven points, depending on the situation.
Before the game begins, the player must make a bet. You can bet on 1 to 3 boxes simultaneously, i.e. play three hands at the same time. In European Blackjack, players are prohibited from betting on more than three boxes.
At the beginning of the game, the player clicks the Deal button, and the dealer deals a pair of cards for each box. A hand consisting of Ace and 10/Jack/Queen/King is called “blackjack”. If luck is on your side, you have a chance to hit a blackjack on your first hand.
The first card to the dealer is dealt face up. If this is an Ace, then the player can buy insurance against the dealer having a blackjack. The insurance amount is equal to 50% of the bet on the corresponding box. Once you’ve bought insurance, the game moves to the next box.
If the player has a pair of cards that totals 11, they can choose to double. Also, if you have two cards of the same face value, you can split your hand into two hands/boxes. Splitting requires making an additional bet of the same size as the initial one. The following are the rules that apply only when playing two hands.
Players are allowed to split only once. Do not double or surrender if you’re playing two hands. If you split two Aces, you only get one extra card, and the total of twenty-one points is not considered a blackjack.
If a player is satisfied with their hand, they click the Stand/Stop button. If the player needs an additional card, they click the Deal/Hit button. If you click the Enough/Done button, the game will move to the other hand. If your hand happens to exceed 21, then you lose the game and the casino takes your bet.
In Single-Deck European Blackjack, there is a special rule for the dealer. The dealer must take an additional card if their hand totals to less than 17 points. However, if the player busted, this rule is no longer applied.
Single Deck European Blackjack: Payouts
If the dealer has a Blackjack and the player has an insurance, the payout is 2 to 1. If the player with an insurance wins the round, they simply get their bet back. The rest of the money goes to the casino.
If the dealer didn’t hit a blackjack, then the casino will keep the insurance bet. If in such a situation the player has a Blackjack, they’ll get paid 3 to 1.
If the dealer busted or the player has a higher hand than the dealer (without busting), then the player gets paid 1 to 1. If the opponents scored an equal number of points, then it’s a tie and the player get their bet back.
As you can see, European Blackjack is a fairly simple game that only has slight differences from the classic version. Be sure to check it out at the best casino online!
